Original availablegiclee canvas available In my part of the northern Rockies we only have mountain goats. Our local mountains are too tough for sheep...goats will survive anywhere!  To the south are Bighorn sheep and to the north are Stone sheep.  Further north yet you will find Dall or thin-horn Sheep.

I have seen plenty of goats and stone sheep but I have never been that far north in Dall country.  Charlie Russell painted several wonderful paintings that included mountain sheep...check "Meats not meat till it's in the pan" and "Who's meat?"

The Dalls are especially adapted as are the desert bighorns.  When a friend told me about his trip for Dalls and how difficult the mountains were, I just had to try to get it down on canvas.

We have a lot of grizzly in our local mountains.
